Climbing Wild Winter Gardening Essentials

As the days get shorter and the nights get longer, it may be easy to think that your fun in the garden is over.

However, that is not the case, these are many things that can be done in order to get ready for next spring.

Here is a short list of things that our gardeners are still performing

Fruit Tree Pruning

Come the colder months, fruit trees become dormant so it is safe to prune them. We remove diseased and damaged wood, eliminate any branches that are rubbing against each other or crossing over by removing the weaker branch. Pruning fruit trees in the winter is a great way to get them primed for the coming spring.

Garden Tidy Ups

Our garden maintenance teams are busy completing garden tidy ups for a lot of our customers. This involved things like trimming evergreens, pruning trees and roses, jet washing, and looking after the occasional veg garden

Winter Planting

With some plants becoming dormant over the winter months, our gardeners are busy digging up plants and replanting them in another part of the garden. As long as the soil isn’t frozen or waterlogged, it is safe to replant these before they wake up in spring.

Lay Grass Seed

Our gardeners are getting seed down in preparation for next year. Grass can typically grow when the temperature is above 5 degrees.
